About the role
- We are looking for a French-speaking medical advisor to conduct medical examinations of statutory employees on long-term absence in Brussels and Namur.
- You carry out assessment examinations and determine the employee’s work incapacity based on the medical file (diagnosis, medical reports, medical history), the medical examination (medical history and clinical exam), and, when appropriate, in consultation with the treating physician.
- You support the employee in their return-to-work process.
- You inform and advise clients and stakeholders to propose solutions tailored to their requests.
- You actively update your knowledge in the areas of sickness or private accident-related absence, medical incapacity, and reintegration to optimize the quality of your work and ensure consistent application of regulations.
Requirements
- You hold a medical degree permitting practice in Belgium and possess an INAMI number.
- A certificate in insurance medicine and medical expertise, or willingness to obtain one, is an asset.
- Behavioral competencies: You are solution-oriented and use information from multiple sources to reach coherent conclusions.
- You communicate with openness and empathy.
- You correctly identify problematic issues, foster discussion, and reach agreements with the parties involved.
- When making decisions, you rely on existing evidence-based guidelines, sound reasoning, and well-considered arguments.
- You work constructively with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
- You are flexible and committed, acting with consideration and respect for the company’s culture, goals, and values.
Benefits
- Permanent employment contract (open-ended).
- A pleasant working environment where a human-centered approach is always a priority.
- Opportunities for internal and external training, affiliation to the Scientific Association of Insurance Medicine, and payment of the medical association membership fee.
- An attractive salary package with benefits (group and hospitalization insurance, meal vouchers, etc.).
- A first-class rail pass for travel within Belgium, discounts on international travel, and a bicycle allowance.
- Good work–life balance through flexible working hours and the possibility of remote work after an internal training period.
