About the role

  • We are seeking a medical advisor to manage the medico-legal review of medical files related to occupational accidents and occupational diseases.
  • You are responsible for monitoring and verifying absences due to occupational accidents and occupational diseases.
  • Conduct medico-legal consultations with the insurer under the law and with the various legal departments of the Belgian Railways.
  • Perform consolidation examinations to determine and assign a percentage of permanent incapacity following an occupational accident.
  • Defend the company's interests in judicial proceedings concerning bodily injury and occupational diseases affecting statutory staff.
  • Play an active role in the multidisciplinary approach to return-to-work after an accident.

Requirements

  • Qualification: You hold a medical degree authorizing you to practice medicine in Belgium and have an INAMI number.
  • Availability: A prompt start is desirable (subject to any applicable notice period).
  • Advantage: Experience with legislation on occupational accidents and occupational diseases.
  • You hold a specialization in insurance medicine and assessment of bodily injury, or you are accredited as a judicial expert.
  • Behavioral skills: You are solution-oriented and use information from multiple sources to arrive at coherent conclusions.
