About the role

  • Oversee full-cycle accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, expense reporting, and general ledger.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including financial statements, reconciliations, and analyses.
  • Configure and manage Deltek Costpoint structures (orgs, segments, projects, accounts, PLCs, and charge codes) aligned with contract SOWs and modifications.
  • Oversee client invoicing, indirect expense pools, rate structures, and variance analyses.
  • Develop and monitor annual budgets and rolling forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls and ensure ongoing compliance with GAAP, FAR, CAS, and DCAA.
  • Lead DCAA audit readiness, responses, and ongoing compliance initiatives.
  • Drive automation, standardization, and continuous improvement across accounting and billing processes.
  • Manage external financial audits and coordinate responses with auditors and stakeholders.
  • Oversee tax compliance activities, including filings, payments, and year-end reporting.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance oversight for accounting staff.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor and business partner to the CFO and executive leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience within government contracting.
  • Expert-level understanding of GAAP, FAR, CAS, DCAA and federal procurement regulations.
  • Strong leadership, management, and supervisory capabilities.
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and maintain robust internal control systems.
  • Expertise in financial statement preparation, analysis, and executive-level reporting.
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, and indirect rate management skills.
  • High ethical standards and sound professional judgment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365, Deltek Costpoint, and integrated business systems.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and operate effectively in a regulated environment.
