About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the business case process and conduct financial analysis supporting capital investment decisions
Build, maintain, and improve financial and regulatory models evaluating project economics and enterprise impacts
Evaluate EPS, cash flow, credit, customer bill, regulatory, and other financial statement impacts of proposed investments and decisions
Coordinate inputs from Operations, Regulatory, Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Planning, and other stakeholders
Prepare executive-level materials and recommendations for governance and leadership review
Support strategic financial planning, including the NiSource strategic plan, rate case outcome modeling, and capital target setting
Support emergency response efforts when required, potentially outside normal hours or typical responsibilities
Follow safety requirements, report hazards, and help maintain a safe work environment

Requirements

What you’ll need

Four-year degree in a business discipline
4–6 years or more of experience in finance, accounting, regulatory, or a related field
Multiple functional experience
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Experience with financial modeling, analysis, and executive-level presentation materials
Understanding of regulated utility finance, financial statement impacts, customer bills, regulatory outcomes, and NiSource financial metrics
Ability to build partnerships across work groups
Ability to evaluate options and recommend effective courses of action
Ability to influence stakeholders and gain commitment
Ability to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Must not require employer sponsorship now or in the future
