About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the business case process and conduct financial analysis supporting capital investment decisions
  • Build, maintain, and improve financial and regulatory models evaluating project economics and enterprise impacts
  • Evaluate EPS, cash flow, credit, customer bill, regulatory, and other financial statement impacts of proposed investments and decisions
  • Coordinate inputs from Operations, Regulatory, Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Planning, and other stakeholders
  • Prepare executive-level materials and recommendations for governance and leadership review
  • Support strategic financial planning, including the NiSource strategic plan, rate case outcome modeling, and capital target setting
  • Support emergency response efforts when required, potentially outside normal hours or typical responsibilities
  • Follow safety requirements, report hazards, and help maintain a safe work environment

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Four-year degree in a business discipline
  • 4–6 years or more of experience in finance, accounting, regulatory, or a related field
  • Multiple functional experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with financial modeling, analysis, and executive-level presentation materials
  • Understanding of regulated utility finance, financial statement impacts, customer bills, regulatory outcomes, and NiSource financial metrics
  • Ability to build partnerships across work groups
  • Ability to evaluate options and recommend effective courses of action
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and gain commitment
  • Ability to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must not require employer sponsorship now or in the future
