During the clerkship, the successful candidate will be an active member of the Legal Department working alongside legal professionals and tasked with legal work overseen by attorneys.
Remote and virtual candidates will be considered, with a preference given to candidates who can be at our Columbus, OH or Merrillville, IN offices in-person at least part-time.

This position follows a hybrid schedule, requiring on-site presence three days per week and remote work two days per week.
Research and summarize case law and draft memoranda and other correspondence on legal and regulatory matters
Evaluate legal issues and collaborate with attorneys on contract, supply chain, real property, environmental, labor and employment, regulatory and litigation matters
Assist attorneys in preparing for regulatory filings, hearings, and meetings
Prepare for and attend meetings with internal business partners
Respond to subpoenas and discovery requests
Shadow on-site inspections and investigations
Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials
Participate in negotiations and settlements
Requirements
Currently enrolled first-year or second-year law student pursuing a J.D. from an ABA accredited law school
Completed Torts, Contracts, Property, Legal Research and Legal Writing classes
Ability to learn new concepts quickly
Ability to work independently, organize, prioritize and manage deadlines
Excellent research, oral and written communications and analytical skills
Ability to collaborate across diverse internal legal and business groups
Positive and professional attitude, dependability, timeliness, and good judgment
