Define criteria for using cloud or on-premises infrastructure.
Design reference cloud architectures, covering layers such as VPC, load balancers, DNS, gateways, storage, security, and observability, in addition to application platforms (virtual machines, containers, managed services, or others).
Design reference on-premises architectures, covering aspects such as virtualization, networking, storage, security, high availability, and integration with hybrid environments.
Assess feasibility and create technical plans for migrating infrastructure to the cloud (7Rs) or repatriating to on-premises, ensuring technical, financial, and operational coherence.
Develop technical cost-estimation rationales for new applications and projects in cloud or on-premises environments.
Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams on all architectural definitions and decisions, following an "architecture by design" model.
Establish and evolve FinOps practices and tools, ensuring cost control and optimization in cloud and on-premises environments.
Collaborate with solution architecture and development teams to ensure alignment of technical and operational standards.
Promote governance, reliability (SRE), and DevOps practices and tools, ensuring automation, observability, and availability.
Stay up to date on cloud, automation, and modern infrastructure trends, and disseminate knowledge within the team.
Requirements
Proven experience in infrastructure architecture and cloud computing in enterprise and hybrid architectures.
Experience with containers and orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift, EKS, AKS, GKE).
Experience with virtualization on AWS EC2, GCP Compute Engine, and VMware.
Experience with reference application architectures for cloud and on-premises (from networking, load balancers, VPC, DNS, gateways, security, and observability to application platforms: containers, virtualization, and managed services).
Experience with FinOps and cost-optimization practices in cloud and on-premises environments.
Knowledge of DevOps and automation (CI/CD, IaC, pipelines, observability).
Knowledge of Reliability/SRE principles, practices, and tools.
Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Cloud Solutions Architect certification (Professional level) in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud (required).
Additional certifications are a plus: DevOps, HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate, FinOps Certified Practitioner.
