About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop high-impact software products for automated endpoint management
- Work on the C++ agent running on customer devices with elevated system privileges
- Detect, install, and validate patches across Windows, macOS, and Linux
- Build resilient installation and rollback logic using system-level APIs
- Read and act on policy owned by the mainline platform team
- Review code for correctness, maintainability, and architectural health
- Mentor and grow senior and mid-level engineers
- Identify process gaps, propose fixes, and drive improvements to completion
- Collaborate with mainline, catalog, and other patching squads on shared ownership and integration points
- Translate roadmap priorities and customer needs into sound technical designs
- Help shape architecture and serve as a senior technical voice on the C++ patching team
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical field
- 10+ years of C++ development experience
- Modern C++ (C++17 and above)
- Cross-platform development experience across Windows, macOS, and Linux
- Experience with Win32 API and POSIX
- Experience with gRPC and Protocol Buffers
- Experience with SQLite and embedded database patterns
- Experience with CMake
- Qt and Vcpkg proficiency is a strong plus
- Ability to work with system-level APIs and elevated system privileges
- Experience with asynchronous application design and client-server architecture is helpful
- Experience with large-scale datastore bottlenecks is helpful
- Must reside in one of the eligible U.S. states
- Position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
