About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Troubleshoot and repair commercial and industrial floor cleaning equipment in the branch shop or at customer sites
- Complete required service-work reports, timesheets, and other reports established by the Branch Supervisor
- Maintain all required training and certifications in an up-to-date and timely manner
- Maintain specified spare-parts stock levels in the service van
- Assess and respond to equipment-failure situations using standard procedures
- Report design, reliability, and maintenance problems through field service management software
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; 5 years relevant experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3 years prior experience in a similar or related field
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
- Demonstrated product knowledge, preferably obtained through hands-on experience
- Mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills
- Understanding of internal combustion engines
- Ability to read, understand, and follow electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Ability to use basic electrical testing/diagnostic equipment
- Thorough understanding of AC and DC electrical theory
- Valid Driver's License
- DOT Certification
- Proficiency with MS Office and business applications
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to interpret safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees
- Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to regularly lift/move up to 100 pounds
