About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Troubleshoot and repair commercial and industrial floor cleaning equipment in the branch shop or at customer sites
Complete required service-work reports, timesheets, and other reports established by the Branch Supervisor
Maintain all required training and certifications in an up-to-date and timely manner
Maintain specified spare-parts stock levels in the service van
Assess and respond to equipment-failure situations using standard procedures
Report design, reliability, and maintenance problems through field service management software

Requirements

What you’ll need

Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; 5 years relevant experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
3 years prior experience in a similar or related field
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
Demonstrated product knowledge, preferably obtained through hands-on experience
Mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills
Understanding of internal combustion engines
Ability to read, understand, and follow electrical and hydraulic schematics
Ability to use basic electrical testing/diagnostic equipment
Thorough understanding of AC and DC electrical theory
Valid Driver's License
DOT Certification
Proficiency with MS Office and business applications
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Ability to interpret safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees
Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Ability to apply commonsense understanding and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Ability to regularly lift/move up to 100 pounds
Ability to work around electrical shock risks, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals
