About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage product management for all Industrial Gas Plants within the Applied Technologies Business Unit
  • Drive products’ end-to-end success from concept through development, launch, manufacturing, service, maturity, and retirement
  • Develop and execute product strategies and multi-year roadmaps aligned with business objectives
  • Conduct market, industry, customer, and competitive research to define needs, trends, gaps, value propositions, and product requirements
  • Lead continuous product improvement through manufacturing-process improvements, operating configurations, enhanced features, low-cost manufacturing techniques, and closed-loop feedback
  • Identify and evaluate new product opportunities and enhancements
  • Build business cases for new product development, including ROI analysis and project justification
  • Lead Voice of Customer research and translate customer pain points into engineering requirements
  • Participate as a core team member in product development projects
  • Coordinate with sales, marketing, engineering, operations, customers, and cross-functional teams
  • Develop at least one quarterly inorganic growth opportunity, including acquisitions, joint ventures, conglomerations, or integration and extension strategies
  • Serve as product expert and champion for global sales teams and channel partners
  • Address product inquiries, join customer calls, deliver product training, gather feedback, and monitor customer satisfaction
  • Advocate internally for customer-aligned product roadmaps and features
  • Drive revenue growth, profitability, gross margin, market share, NPI success, product adoption, sales mix, and customer satisfaction KPIs
  • Travel internationally to client offices, sites, production facilities, industrial/construction job sites, trade shows, and industry events as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 10 years of industry experience with related equipment, preferably in technical sales, project management, or general management
  • Proven track record of overachieving business development targets, sales targets, forecasting, strategic planning, and budgeting
  • Proven experience developing teams for technical business development
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or Business with relevant work experience
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing/engineering environment is strongly preferred
  • Equivalent combination of experience and skills may be considered
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and standards of excellence
  • Extensive experience with relevant product lines
  • Specific industry experience and knowledge in cryogenics and industrial gas
  • Exceptional problem solving, negotiating, time management, and general management skills
  • Financial skills and strong familiarity with revenue, bookings, gross margin, EBIT, project budgeting, cost structure/management, and other financial metrics
  • Ability to motivate a result-driven team
  • Ability to work across departments to reach meaningful results
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Overtime may be necessary, including weekdays, weekends, nights, and/or holidays
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. may be required
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving history/driving abstract required for travel between facilities and client sites/offices
  • New Employee Safety Training and Safety Awareness training required
  • Ongoing job-specific training required as determined by management
  • Compliance with Nikkiso safety requirements and PPE requirements

  • Salary of $127,000 - $187,000 annually
