About the role
- The Application Engineering role will be responsible for generating technical proposals and managing the in-house sales support for the growing fueling and solutions market in North America.
- This role requires a strong technical background to develop tailor-made solutions by using ICS standard.
- Work with departments to ensure proposals submitted meet Solutions requirements for delivery, documentation, testing and technical requirements.
- Work with sales personnel to ensure customers are provided with the required information.
- Communicate with customers to answer technical questions and respond to bid clarifications.
- Ensure on-time performance of submission of proposals.
- Provide support for marketing activities.
- Perform quoting work as required.
- International and domestic travel to support customer meetings as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience is required.
- 3 years in application or sales engineering, preferably in a plant manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience with Autodesk, SolidWorks or similar software is preferred.
- English language proficiency is required.
- Experience with customer relation management (CRM) software; SalesForce preferred.
- Advanced MS Office Suite.
- Ability to review proposals for compliance with technical specifications and pricing accuracy for engineered-to-order products.
- Skill in time management, prioritizing and managing changing priorities.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent customer service and communications skills.

- Job will generally be performed in an office environment, but may require travel to a client's office, production facility or industrial/construction job site.

- New Employee Safety Training is required by all newly hired employees, including Safety Awareness.
- All safety related training is provided and tracked by the EHS Technician.
- Job specific training modules deemed necessary by employee’s Manager or Director will be required of all employees on an ongoing basis.
- Employees are required to wear Nikkiso provided PPE as/when needed. PPE’s include, safety shoes, safety glasses, face shields, FR clothing, cryogenic gloves, cryogenic apron, cut resistant gloves, safety gloves, hearing protection, hard hats & dust masks.
- Failure to comply with Nikkiso Cryo safety requirements will result in disciplinary actions, up to and including termination.
