About the role

  • Analyze architectural and engineering drawings, blueprints, and project specifications to determine material, labor, and equipment requirements.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates using estimating software, Google Workspace applications, and Excel/Sheets.
  • Solicit, review, and compare quotes from vendors and subcontractors to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance with specifications.
  • Evaluate proposals, project values, and bid documentation to prepare comprehensive cost summaries.
  • Maintain detailed records of all estimates, takeoffs, and revisions for active and historical projects.
  • Establish job accounts and ensure all project documentation is properly reviewed and distributed to field and management teams.
  • Communicate with suppliers and vendors regarding purchase orders, submittals, and material deliveries.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and field teams to ensure a seamless handoff from estimating to project execution.
  • Track material shipments, manage delivery schedules, and provide timely updates to relevant stakeholders
  • Prepare, price, and log change orders; manage negotiations and approvals as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Monitor work orders, cost codes, and timesheets to ensure proper job costing and billing accuracy.
  • Pre-code and track accounts payable entries related to materials, services, and change orders to maintain accurate project financials.
  • Compile and prepare closeout documents, including warranties, as-builts, and final cost summaries.
  • Maintain organized project records and ensure all contractual and procedural documentation is completed accurately and on time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of experiencein construction estimating, project coordination, or assistant project management (experience with U.S.-based projects strongly preferred).
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace applications (Sheets, Docs, Drive, Meet, Calendar), OneDrive, and Airtable.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • **Preferred Experience**
  • Familiarity with off-site construction, particularly manufactured housing, is strongly preferred; general contracting experience also acceptable.
  • Prior experience with HUD code housing and/or prefab/modular construction utilizing off-site building techniques preferred.
  • Background in working with U.S.-based construction or contracting firms
