About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, refine, and implement learning products across the curriculum
  • Partner closely with fellow Instructional Design Specialists and subject matter experts
  • Ensure programs meet federal, state, and Nightingale College standards
  • Stay current with emerging trends in online teaching and learning
  • Perform cause, knowledge, or gap analyses to determine the right learning delivery approach
  • Develop course guides for curriculum and EvolvEd™ courses to support facilitation
  • Select the instructional design method, media, and facilitation style best suited to each organizational intervention
  • Build supportive materials that enhance performance improvement strategies
  • Align new and existing course content with optimal instructional methods
  • Design and execute online course assembly, creation, and packaging within the LMS and authoring tools
  • Develop and refine tests, scoring guides, and curriculum
  • Map course topics, objectives, and assignments into program designs
  • Liaise with Nightingale Education Group committees as needed
  • Participate in cross-functional projects as they arise
  • Devise new processes to optimize training development
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in Learning Science, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Assessment, Learning Design, Curriculum Design, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience designing learning technology, software, or learning environments
  • 2+ years of experience developing courses in an LMS and authoring tools
  • Demonstrated experience designing assessments within distance learning experiences
  • Demonstrated understanding of concept-based, competency-based, project-based, and other learning design models
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to learning design systems with numerous stakeholders and requirements
  • Preferred: 3+ years gathering and applying peer-reviewed scholarly research and user research
  • Preferred: Experience in Nursing/Allied Health/Health Sciences Education
  • Preferred: Experience in micro-credentialing
