About the role
- Actively prospect and acquire new clients to meet and exceed annual quotas and targets
- Identify and capitalize on upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the existing client base
- Manage the entire sales cycle from initial prospecting and lead qualification to negotiating and closing contracts
- Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders through both virtual and in-person meetings
- Represent Nielsen at industry and client events as needed
- Serve as a subject matter expert in direct client pitches, communicating product benefits to address client needs
- Develop and execute strategic account and territory plans for assigned roster
- Collaborate with account management, operations, enablement, marketing, and product teams to drive customer satisfaction
- Assist in development and implementation of client-specific sales strategies
- Proactively identify personal product knowledge gaps and create training plans; share best practices with colleagues
- Maintain detailed and accurate sales pipeline in Salesforce for reporting and forecasting
- Prepare for and lead internal and external meetings, including Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs)
- Monitor individual sales performance metrics and KPIs, market trends, and competitor activity
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in new business sales
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Understanding of the media and advertising industry (brand marketers, television, digital, social, retail media, advertising agencies)
- Attention to detail and excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and respond to clients in a timely manner
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Ability to work well with a diverse customer base and various internal teams
- Motivated to prospect, drive sales and new business opportunities
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Strong team player
- Experience with Salesforce / CRM management
