About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Developing and managing an independent website for the Council.
- Creating and maintaining an independent website for the Council; and Uploading the Council’s bios (as requested) and annual report to the website.
- Reviewing and editing draft reports, speeches, and other communications to ensure they meet the project’s quality standards while adhering to Department of State branding and reporting requirements.
- Proofreading final documents to correct any formatting, grammatical, punctuation, or typographical errors.
- Providing copy-editing support for all written materials produced by and for the Council and for the client.
- Conducting ad-hoc research as directed by the Senior Project Director or the Deputy Project Director.
- Ensuring adequate content management for the support team, ensuring that all relevant project and Council documents – historical and current – are organized for easy access on the appropriate platform.
- Supporting technology and A/V requirements for event / meeting execution.
- Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Policy, International Studies, Journalism, or other related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in communications, journalism, report writing, or similar.
- Minimum of two (2) years of web development experience.
- Proficiency with web development languages such as JavaScript, PHP, HTML5/CSS, GraphQL.
- Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong graphic design skills.
- Prior work in human trafficking or other human rights related issue/s is preferred.
- Client-focused, attention to detail, committed to excellence in product development.
- Strong analytical and writing skills, including the ability to produce technical reports and briefings.
- Demonstrates emotional intelligence and cultural awareness.
- Skilled in building trust-based and collaborative relationships with clients, stakeholders and officials.
- US Citizen.
