About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Developing and managing an independent website for the Council.
Creating and maintaining an independent website for the Council; and Uploading the Council’s bios (as requested) and annual report to the website.
Reviewing and editing draft reports, speeches, and other communications to ensure they meet the project’s quality standards while adhering to Department of State branding and reporting requirements.
Proofreading final documents to correct any formatting, grammatical, punctuation, or typographical errors.
Providing copy-editing support for all written materials produced by and for the Council and for the client.
Conducting ad-hoc research as directed by the Senior Project Director or the Deputy Project Director.
Ensuring adequate content management for the support team, ensuring that all relevant project and Council documents – historical and current – are organized for easy access on the appropriate platform.
Supporting technology and A/V requirements for event / meeting execution.
Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Policy, International Studies, Journalism, or other related field.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in communications, journalism, report writing, or similar.
Minimum of two (2) years of web development experience.
Proficiency with web development languages such as JavaScript, PHP, HTML5/CSS, GraphQL.
Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.
Strong graphic design skills.
Prior work in human trafficking or other human rights related issue/s is preferred.
Client-focused, attention to detail, committed to excellence in product development.
Strong analytical and writing skills, including the ability to produce technical reports and briefings.
Demonstrates emotional intelligence and cultural awareness.
Skilled in building trust-based and collaborative relationships with clients, stakeholders and officials.
US Citizen.
