About the role
- Predictive Modeling & Advanced Analysis: Architect and own sophisticated models to solve our most critical commercial challenges, from mitigating client churn and activating clients to member onboarding and engagement.
- Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify the root causes of business challenges and present strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Partner with department leaders to define, measure, and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), building and maintaining advanced dashboards in Looker that provide actionable insights.
- Project Leadership & Delivery: Lead complex, cross-functional data projects from initial scoping and analysis through to final recommendations and implementation.
- Autonomously tackle ambiguous business problems, turning them into clear, data-driven project plans with a high degree of accuracy and quality.
- Strategic Partnership & Communication: Serve as a trusted data partner for our Commercial teams, building a deep understanding of their challenges and objectives.
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear, compelling narratives that influence senior-level decision-making.
- Advocate for data quality best practices, collaborating with stakeholders to improve data instrumentation and validation at the point of collection.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a data science or data analytics role.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related discipline; Master's degree is a plus.
- Deep expertise in SQL and statistical programming (e.g., Python, R).
- Proven experience with statistical and predictive modeling techniques (e.g., regression, classification, forecasting) and their practical application to business problems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex analytical projects from start to finish with a high degree of autonomy.
- Experience working with and contributing to data pipelines (ETL/ELT), partnering with data engineering to ensure data quality.
- Extensive experience with a modern BI tool like Looker or Tableau.
- Strong business acumen and a passion for solving real-world operational problems.
- Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting complex findings to senior leadership.
- Must reside in the US.
