About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- **POSITION SUMMARY**
- Reporting to the Accounting Transactions Team Supervisor, this position works as part of the Internal Group Accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and deadline submission of month-end, quarter-end and year-end results are met. This position supports leadership in the development and implementation of standardized Group accounting policies and processes.
- **WHAT YOU WILL DO:**
- - Performs recurring monthly tasks and journal entries to assist the Internal Group Accounting team in financial close.
- - Prepares monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and account analysis.
- - Maintains general ledger accounts with a high degree of accuracy.
- - Collaborates with Account Transactions Team Supervisor and Internal Group Accounting Manager to ensure that deadlines are met.
- - Supports the Internal Group Accounting leadership in the development and implementation of standardized accounting policies and processes.
- - Aids in process standardization and system implementation projects.
- - Assists with internal and external audit requests.
- - Supports and interacts with various functional groups within Finance and Operations.
Requirements
What you’ll need- **WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:**
- - Post-secondary education in Business, Accounting, or a combination of related education and experience.
- - Prior experience in a finance/accounting function.
- - Demonstrated knowledge in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- - Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- - Analytical problem solver with the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- - Strong MS Excel skills and ability to learn new systems.
- - Familiarity with Oracle considered an asset.
- - Current enrolment or completion of a professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA) considered an asset.
