About the role

  • Contribute to underwriting development and build-out of the Complex Reinsurance business segment
  • Manage a team of underwriters and/or actuaries
  • Responsible for multiple underwriting books of business
  • Manage customer and broker relationships
  • Responsible for budget authority over their organization
  • Make underwriting decisions to accept, decline or modify risks
  • Execute underwriting strategy, including portfolio management and self-audits
  • Travel regularly to key accounts
  • Train and develop junior team members

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 12+ years specialty underwriting
  • 6+ years Supervisor/Management Experience
  • Master's Degree (Preferred)
  • Excess and surplus underwriting (Preferred)
  • Certification: American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (AICPCU) or Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) or equivalent (Preferred)
