About the role
- Serve as the primary finance point of contact for the payments business, including Stripe-enabled operations, supporting both day-to-day and strategic planning.
- Translate complex business questions into analytical frameworks and deliver clear, actionable recommendations.
- Elevate financial and metric fluency across Payments, Product, and GTM leaders by coaching stakeholders on payment economics, fee drivers, conversion mechanics, and trade-offs.
- Partner with FP&A and Accounting to align forecasts, variance analysis, and executive-level reporting.
- Analyze payment flows, transaction volumes, Stripe fee structures, and cost-to-serve dynamics; identify opportunities to improve unit economics.
- Evolve profitability models across key dimensions (e.g., practice cohort, segment, product bundle/SKU, channel, payment method, card-present/card-not-present mix).
- Monitor recurring and explain recurring revenue streams (ARR/MRR), churn, retention, and upsell performance within payment-enabled products.
- Partner with Sales and Customer Success to ensure pricing discipline, discount guardrails, and healthy pipeline economics.
- Build and maintain cohort analyses (activation ramp, volume maturity curves, retention/churn, expansion) to inform growth targets and GTM strategies.
- Support pricing and monetization strategies for payment-related products and services, including post-launch performance reviews.
- Develop SKU-level profitability analysis to identify underperforming offerings and margin improvement opportunities.
- Develop pricing frameworks for new payment features, including tiered pricing, bundling, and value-based models. Partner with Sales and GTM teams to implement and monitor adherence.
- Collaborate with Product and Sales to rationalize SKU portfolios and optimize packaging for customer segments.
- Monitor discounting and price realization trends; implement guardrails to protect margin integrity.
- Build scenario models for strategic decisions such as payment partnerships, new product launches, and portfolio changes.
- Own the Payments KPI architecture and reporting roadmap—ensuring metric definitions, data lineage, and governance that support a trusted “single source of truth.”
- Partner with Enterprise BI to co-create datasets and dashboards for payment KPIs, including transaction success rates, Stripe fee impact, churn, cohort performance, and customer health.
- Develop dashboards tracking volume, SKU adoption, revenue contribution, and profitability by segment.
- Drive a rigorous operating cadence for Payments performance (weekly insights, monthly business reviews, QBR support), surfacing leading indicators, root-cause analysis, and clear actions.
- Collaborate with Product and Product Marketing to quantify roadmap ROI, support business cases, and translate field/customer feedback into measurable economic implications.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Risk to ensure reporting supports required controls and that commercial decisions reflect regulatory and operating risk realities.
- Support executive and board-ready materials with high clarity, strong narrative structure, and defensible numbers.

- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and unit economics (including pricing, margin, and contribution analysis).
