About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage diverse payroll tasks for a variety of clients with team support
Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for clients
Respond to payroll-related questions from employees
Interact with 401k and benefit providers
Complete payroll deadlines independently
Pull reports for clients’ accounting teams
Manage employee timekeeping records
Perform data reconciliation, reporting, and processing in Excel
Handle sensitive client information professionally and accurately
Manage multiple clients and numerous payrolls each week
Own client deliverables and support client satisfaction
Answer compliance-related questions regarding California wage and hour requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need

5–7 years minimum of proven experience managing multiple clients and processing numerous payrolls weekly
Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Consulting experience ideal
Benefits, 401k reporting, and multi-state payroll experience
General accounting experience preferred, including journal entries
Familiarity with California wage and hour compliance requirements
Familiarity with Paychex, Paylocity, Gusto, and Rippling, with emphasis on Paylocity and Rippling
Additional software familiarity helpful: Slack, Asana, Google Suite, MS Office, and Ease (Mineral)
Advanced proficiency in Excel
Comfort with Mac technology preferred
Strong attention to detail and organization
Ability to proactively prioritize workload
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to identify and resolve payroll data anomalies
Ability to handle client issues and last-minute changes under pressure
Professionalism when handling sensitive information
