About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage payroll, benefits administration, and HR reporting for employees and contractors.
Ensure compliance with California employment laws and maintain accurate HR records and documentation.
Lead onboarding and offboarding processes for employees and contractors.
Serve as the primary point of contact for HR systems, vendors, and external partners.
Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates.
Partner with leadership to ensure fair, consistent people practices and support organizational growth.
Support employee relations matters, including performance management, investigations, issue resolution, and sensitive employee concerns.
Coordinate workforce planning, compensation reviews, role leveling, and internal promotions.
Facilitate training, compliance programs, and HR education initiatives.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and values-driven workplace culture.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bilingual (Spanish/English)
5+ years of HR experience, ideally within small to mid-sized companies (40–100 employees)
Strong working knowledge of California labor laws and HR compliance requirements
Experience managing payroll, benefits, 401(k), and contractor vs. Employee classification
Hands-on experience building or refining HR policies, procedures, and infrastructure
