About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Post and manage content across Newsweek’s social media channels (Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, Bluesky, Threads, WhatsApp, Reddit and LinkedIn).
- Monitor comments and trends; respond appropriately to foster community interaction.
- Collaborate with editors to amplify breaking news and trending stories during weekend hours.
- Track performance of weekend content and provide insights to the social media team.
- Ensure all posts reflect Newsweek’s voice, editorial standards, and visual identity.
- Communicate with editorial and digital teams to align social strategy with newsroom priorities.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Prior experience managing social media accounts for a brand, publication, or organization.
- Strong understanding of social platforms, trends, and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and make quick editorial judgments.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Weekend availability is required.
- While this is a remote position, the candidate must be US-based
