About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as a subject-matter expert and consultative resource to University and Global Enrollment Management and Student Success (GEMSS) leaders on federal and state regulations
Interpret policy, review practices and recommend changes in business practices to ensure compliance
Lead compliance for the Family Education Rights to Privacy Act (FERPA) in collaboration with Registrar
Conduct compliance reviews and audits
Serve in a consultative capacity for compliance administrators across the University
Maintain a dotted-line reporting relationship with the Chief Global Compliance Officer
Represent NYU at professional associations

Requirements

What you’ll need

Master's Degree in a related area (e.g., Higher Education Administration, MBA, MPA, etc.)
7+ years of relevant management experience with Financial Aid, Title IV and/or Higher Education policy and compliance
Strong knowledge of Higher Education policy and practice
10+ years in a similar compliance and/or leadership position focused on Title IV compliance and success
Prior work providing legal counsel in higher education setting with emphasis on Title IV requirements
In-depth and subject-matter expert knowledge of Title IV regulations
Ability to interpret and explain regulation to University leadership and colleagues
Strong analytical skills and ability to translate information and needs into quantifiable action plans
Use of Federal Student Aid (FSA) systems
