About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a subject-matter expert and consultative resource to University and Global Enrollment Management and Student Success (GEMSS) leaders on federal and state regulations
- Interpret policy, review practices and recommend changes in business practices to ensure compliance
- Lead compliance for the Family Education Rights to Privacy Act (FERPA) in collaboration with Registrar
- Conduct compliance reviews and audits
- Serve in a consultative capacity for compliance administrators across the University
- Maintain a dotted-line reporting relationship with the Chief Global Compliance Officer
- Represent NYU at professional associations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's Degree in a related area (e.g., Higher Education Administration, MBA, MPA, etc.)
- 7+ years of relevant management experience with Financial Aid, Title IV and/or Higher Education policy and compliance
- Strong knowledge of Higher Education policy and practice
- 10+ years in a similar compliance and/or leadership position focused on Title IV compliance and success
- Prior work providing legal counsel in higher education setting with emphasis on Title IV requirements
- In-depth and subject-matter expert knowledge of Title IV regulations
- Ability to interpret and explain regulation to University leadership and colleagues
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate information and needs into quantifiable action plans
- Use of Federal Student Aid (FSA) systems
