About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Advance the communications and marketing efforts of the Courant Institute School of Mathematics, Computing, and Data Science.
Support the development and execution of school‑wide communications that strengthen Courant’s visibility, reputation, and engagement with internal and external audiences.
Collaborate with school leadership and the Assistant Director of Communications, implement a comprehensive communications strategy that enhances engagement among students, faculty, staff, employers, alumni, and prospective students.
Ensure consistent messaging across the Mathematics, Computer Science, and Data Science departments and support the school’s website, newsletter, social media channels, and promotional initiatives.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, media studies, journalism, public relations, or a related field
2+ years relevant experience in writing, managing websites, graphic design, social media, communications and content strategy, or program management
Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, writing and organizational skills; ability to manage time and projects effectively.
Graphic design experience (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign)
Knowledge of the NYU community; academic or background knowledge in the mathematical sciences and technology preferred
