Key responsibilities & impact

Ensure standards and best practices in managing Tandon IT hardware and software procurement.
Responsible for ordering, purchasing, receiving, setting up, and deploying new systems.
Manage asset tagging and inventory procedures.
Monitor warranties and equipment lifecycle to ensure optimal planning and utilization of computing resources.
Ensure protocols for wiping and recycling old systems.
Manage contract negotiations, set-up and renewals.
Develop, communicate and educate IT procurement procedures and standards to the Tandon community.
Provide consultative guidance to departments on hardware and software purchases.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
2+ years of experience.
Strong knowledge of the computing landscape, vendors, technologies and equipment.
Experience managing budgets and expenses and supervising staff.
Proven experience as an IT Security or Systems Administrator or in a similar role, with expertise in Windows, Mac, and Linux environments.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong knowledge of information security standards and practices.
Experience with risk & compliance auditing and assessments.
Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to conduct presentations and clearly articulate technical advice to a non-technical audience.
Highly self-motivated and directed.
