Key responsibilities & impact

Designing, implementing, managing, and monitoring the dedicated High Speed Research Network (HSRN)
Supporting research technology services, e.g., Kubernetes, research data storage, and HPC
Developing and optimizing network solutions
Improving network performance, security, and scalability of the HSRN and related services
Extending the HSRN in NYU research sites and enhancing external network connectivity
Developing tools and processes that can be scaled and shared by IT and NYU faculty researchers
Partnering closely with NYU IT network infrastructure team to align the operation and configuration of the HSRN
Capacity planning, monitoring of network reliability and performance, and problem resolution for network components

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or related field or equivalent
5+ years of enterprise network experience
Experience with HPC networks (Infiniband, ethernet)
Experience with network management and monitoring systems
Intermediate understanding of DNS and DHCP
Experience in supporting a multi-site global campus WAN using DMVPN over public and private connectivity
Experience administering and securing Linux based systems and switches
Experience orchestrating containers and configuring data storage systems
Must be well versed in quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data
A record of successes in programming, architecting and deploying systems that are used or have produced concrete results.
Excellent organizational, project management and technical leadership skills
Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
