About the role

  • Deliver a superior new hire experience by providing a high level of customer service and maintaining quality throughout the pre-employment onboarding process.
  • Ensure the completion and accuracy of all pre-employment processes and forms according to the policy and guidelines, while maintaining data integrity.
  • As an active member of the University Human Resources community, interact with new hires, Recruiters, Human Resource Officers/HR Business Partners, School/Unit points of contact and other areas of Human Resources as needed.
  • Responsible for hire related transactions from start to completion as well as managing relationships with new hires.
  • Partner with supervisors in the development of onboarding related metrics, analytics, dashboards, and assist with Onboarding Center- and recognition-related projects.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 2+ years relevant experience as a human resources coordinator, on-boarding specialist, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Experience presenting in front of small and larger groups
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to administer business processes and requests consistently with general supervision
  • Ability to assess problems and promptly resolve or identify appropriate team to resolve
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with and collaborate across the University and University Human Resources at all levels within and outside the organization
  • Strong time management, attention to detail and ability to manage individual assignments
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of the Workday HRIS system and reporting environment (preferred)
  • Understanding of UHR and NYU policies and procedures (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of service request management tools (preferred)
  • Working knowledge and use of office productivity tools (e.g., MS Office applications) and web-based applications (preferred)
