About the role
- Deliver a superior new hire experience by providing a high level of customer service and maintaining quality throughout the pre-employment onboarding process.
- Ensure the completion and accuracy of all pre-employment processes and forms according to the policy and guidelines, while maintaining data integrity.
- As an active member of the University Human Resources community, interact with new hires, Recruiters, Human Resource Officers/HR Business Partners, School/Unit points of contact and other areas of Human Resources as needed.
- Responsible for hire related transactions from start to completion as well as managing relationships with new hires.
- Partner with supervisors in the development of onboarding related metrics, analytics, dashboards, and assist with Onboarding Center- and recognition-related projects.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- 2+ years relevant experience as a human resources coordinator, on-boarding specialist, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Experience presenting in front of small and larger groups
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to administer business processes and requests consistently with general supervision
- Ability to assess problems and promptly resolve or identify appropriate team to resolve
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with and collaborate across the University and University Human Resources at all levels within and outside the organization
- Strong time management, attention to detail and ability to manage individual assignments
- Ability to handle sensitive situations and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of the Workday HRIS system and reporting environment (preferred)
- Understanding of UHR and NYU policies and procedures (preferred)
- Working knowledge of service request management tools (preferred)
- Working knowledge and use of office productivity tools (e.g., MS Office applications) and web-based applications (preferred)
