About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute on NYPA’s strategic vision
  • Oversee the execution of projects located within one or more program portfolios to ensure projects comply with approved scope, cost, and schedule objectives
  • Ensure projects and programs within the portfolio(s) are managed in compliance with appropriate department and company policies and procedures
  • Manage, facilitate and drive collaboration between all stakeholders and resources in activities related to all phases of projects in assigned portfolios and programs
  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Energy Engineering
  • Master of Science Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Energy Engineering or Master of Business Administration preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Project / Construction Management
  • New York State Professional Engineer (PE) License or ability to obtain within 2 years preferred (Customer) / required (Utility)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a leadership role, managing teams, direct staff and/or contractors required
