About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and media strategies supporting NYC Tourism’s mission, brand objectives, and organizational priorities
  • Partner with the CMO to establish strategic priorities, identify growth opportunities, and execute key initiatives
  • Lead Marketing & Media department budgets, including forecasting, resource allocation, agency spend, reconciliations, and financial management
  • Lead, manage, mentor, and support the Marketing & Media team
  • Drive collaboration across marketing, media, creative, research and analytics, global communications, digital, partnerships, and external agencies
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders, agency partners, media organizations, and external partners
  • Advise the CMO and senior marketing leaders on campaign performance, operational efficiencies, market opportunities, and emerging trends
  • Prepare and present executive-level presentations, reports, strategic updates, and senior leadership meeting materials
  • Establish processes and frameworks to improve departmental effectiveness, accountability, communication, and alignment
  • Monitor marketing performance metrics and optimize campaigns, audience engagement, and return on investment
  • Own the Marketing & Media division strategy and goals with a high degree of autonomy
  • Represent the department and organization in high-level meetings, decisions, and external partner/vendor engagements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) required; advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in marketing, media, and/or consumer promotions
  • Previous experience working closely with C-suite executives or senior leadership teams required
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing integrated marketing and media strategies
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to influence, motivate, and collaborate across organizational levels
  • Strong executive presence and credibility with senior leadership, board members, and external partners
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to operate independently with sound judgment, business acumen, and discretion
  • Proven experience with budget management, vendor/agency relationships, and departmental workflows
  • Strategic input that shapes senior-level decision-making and organizational strategy
  • Agency-side experience is a plus
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is unavailable
