About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage a portfolio of community partners across New York City's five boroughs as the primary CR&PD contact
  • Design, coordinate, and support regular volunteer programs and projects aligned with partner needs and community priorities
  • Conduct partner kickoff calls, periodic check-ins, and site visits
  • Provide strategic planning and guidance to elevate the partner experience
  • Use partner and volunteer feedback and data to inform program design and improvements
  • Maintain partner and project records in Salesforce
  • Monitor portfolio activity, project engagement, and progress toward team goals using dashboards and tracking tools
  • Expand project engagement across the community partner portfolio
  • Collaborate with other New York Cares departments on partner strategy, volunteer placement, and shared priorities
  • Support community-partner events and volunteer projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1–2 years of professional work experience with a nonprofit, school, or government agency
  • Experience in program design, volunteer management, or community engagement
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for cultivating and managing partnerships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for reports, presentations, and internal/external communications
  • Solutions-oriented, collaborative, eager to learn, iterate, and contribute to innovation in program design and impact
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and attentive to detail
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Experience with data reporting tools such as SurveyMonkey
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, timelines, and deliverables
  • Experience with project management tools; Asana preferred
  • Experience with CRM systems; Salesforce preferred
  • Interest in social impact, volunteerism, and New York City communities
  • Commitment to New York Cares’ mission and values
  • Ability to conduct external partner site visits and attend occasional evening/weekend program events
