About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide enterprise-wide insurance and risk management support as part of the Law Department
- Assist with managing insurance programs and maintaining risk management processes
- Produce insurance-related analytics to support decision-making
- Collaborate with departments across the enterprise
- Develop policies, procedures, and risk mitigation strategies
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, regulations, guidelines, practices, and organizational policies
- Coordinate with insurance brokers, carriers, and third-party vendors
- Draft, review, and redline Hold Harmless Agreements
- Gather insurance documents required to run blood drives
- Review contract insurance requirements with NYBC attorneys
- Collect stakeholder information for insurance applications
- Coordinate timely insurance policy renewals
- Assist with insurance audits and auditor inquiries
- Communicate insurance updates and requirements
- Manage claims payment processing
- Maintain the organization’s insurance SharePoint site
- Submit insurance notifications and support claim management with adjusters, the Legal Department, and business units
- Maintain deliverable deadlines and communicate with business partners and internal clients
- Create, analyze, interpret, and present insurance analytics and KPIs
- Support risk assessment tools, workflows, and documentation
- Identify insurance and risk-management process improvements
- Produce written reports and insurance summaries
- Participate in meetings and committees
- Recommend improvements to business-unit processes and practices
- Work on special projects and perform related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or another related degree
- 5 years in insurance coordination, claims management, risk management, or related roles
- Experience supporting insurance policy administration, including applications, renewals, audits, and document management
- Experience collecting, organizing, and analyzing data; exposure to creating dashboards, reports, or KPIs is preferred
- Familiarity with developing or supporting organizational policies, procedures, or risk mitigation processes
- Experience supporting risk management strategies, including identifying exposures, documenting risks, or assisting with mitigation plans
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience using document management and insurance database software
- Cultural competency and ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and groups
- High level of interpersonal skills for complex issues and situations
- Demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy with staff up to executive leadership
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to maintain accurate paper and electronic records
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle competing tasks and demands
