About the role

  • Process military education benefits for the Student Financial Services military education benefit team
  • Certify, validate, and ensure payment of Department of Veterans Affairs and Tuition Assistance programs in compliance with federal, state and institutional policies
  • Review course information to validate enrollment and billing to the Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Report student suspension, dismissals and conferrals to the Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Communicate daily with representatives of the Department of Veterans Affairs to ensure accuracy
  • Review term-by-term balances with Credit and Collection Specialists to research and resolve outstanding military account balances
  • Reconcile military payments to student accounts and military certifications and invoices to ensure record integrity
  • Ensure quality of student records in Enrollment Manager and Student Information Systems (SIS)
  • Meet deadlines for internal and external reporting
  • Work collaboratively with Admission Counselors and students to ensure all applicable documents are received
  • Maintain accurate coding for all Military Student Accounts in the SIS
  • Assist the Military Education Benefit Processing team with projects, reports, and other requests

Requirements

  • 1+ years' experience in the field of military benefit certifications, military student service, invoicing, financial aid or bursar functions, or equivalent education and experience
  • Knowledge of VA Education Benefits and Federal Military Tuition Assistance and any special arrangements for defined military cohorts
  • Strong oral and written skills
  • Employment is dependent upon successful access to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) and a credit check (federal loans must be in good standing and not in default)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team atmosphere
  • Must reside in, and work from, one of the approved U.S. states listed by SNHU
  • Reliable internet connection and a dedicated, properly equipped workspace that is free of distractions
