About the role

  • Prepare and assemble complex immigration applications including I-130, I-485, I-751, I-601A, VAWA (I-360), U visa (I-918), T visa (I-914), SIJS petitions, asylum applications (I-589), and naturalization (N-400)
  • Review client intake information and organize supporting documentation
  • Draft cover letters, legal memoranda, and case summaries for attorney review
  • Conduct legal research on immigration law, case precedents, country conditions, and USCIS policy guidance
  • Prepare removal defense packages and organize evidence for Immigration Court hearings
  • Review applications for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with USCIS requirements
  • Draft client correspondence and case status updates

Requirements

  • J.D. or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution in your country
  • Active bar license or legal practice authorization in South Africa, India, or the Philippines
  • Minimum 3 years of legal experience (immigration law experience preferred but not required)
  • Experience with document preparation, legal research, and case management
  • Familiarity with U.S. immigration law is a strong plus
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong legal writing in English (native or near-native fluency required)
  • Legal research skills using online databases
  • Organizational skills
  • Tech proficiency - Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat, case management software
  • Cultural sensitivity - Comfort working with diverse immigrant populations and trauma-informed approach
