About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design & implement networks, including LANs, WANs, routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks, to meet the needs of our client's business operations.
  • Perform network assessments to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions aligned with project objectives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues during implementations.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers to coordinate network-related activities.
  • Participate in IT infrastructure projects and provide technical guidance and support to project teams.
  • Document network infrastructure and processes for future reference and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry developments to ensure the network infrastructure remains current and effective.
  • Coordinate activities with third parties (e.g., network providers, cabling vendors) according to organizational procedures.
  • Perform site readiness surveys and equipment staging when necessary.
  • Inspect, inventory, and track in-scope products procured by the organization.
  • Order equipment as directed by organizational procedures.
  • Notify the Project Manager of problems with received products (e.g., shipping damage, wrong products, etc.).
  • Stage, configure, and test products according to implementation processes and procedures.
  • Install, configure, and test equipment as required.
  • Provide appropriate post-installation problem resolution as defined in the implementation processes and procedures.
  • Replace defective equipment using organizational RMA procedures.
  • Provide first-day-of-business support for facility openings and moves until the site is officially turned over to operational teams.
  • Prepare for and participate in design reviews.
  • Update related tools within the scope of the project as required.
  • Take and store pictures of the implemented equipment, racks, and cabling if time permits and as required
  • Prepare turnover documentation as required and update records for asset tracking.
  • Report exceptions as soon as practical after they occur.
  • Perform physical decommissioning of old equipment.
  • Provide guidance to local on-site contacts when required and appropriate.
  • Provide updates to cookbooks based on project experiences and insights.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and contribute to post-incident reviews for P1/P2 incidents.
  • Advise on issues and collaborate to resolve any arising problems during project implementation.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide regular project progress updates.
  • Follow organizational policies and procedures for change management, security, and compliance.
  • Escalate issues and concerns to appropriate organizational contacts in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with stakeholders and end-users as needed to provide updates and ensure satisfaction with services provided.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation related to projects and tasks, including network diagrams, device configurations, and system documentation.
  • Complete required training as identified by the organization.
  • Collaborate with other teams and engineers as needed to provide comprehensive solutions for organizational needs.
  • Seek opportunities for process improvement and share ideas for review and implementation.
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing activities such as peer reviews and mentoring programs to build expertise across the team.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in information technology/computer science or similar through education or equivalent experience.
  • Mandatory CCNA certification.
  • CCNP or similar certification by experience is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Solid knowledge of LAN, WAN, QoS, WLAN, and related technologies.
  • Willingness to work with a flexible schedule to meet project requirements.
  • Readiness to travel to support network deployment activities.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
