About the role
- Support cloud and configuration management engineering for in-restaurant payment devices.
- Manage and maintain the health of payment systems, including patching, terminal configuration, profiling, and enforcing standards using automation tools such as Puppet.
- Perform technical upgrades, including: CentOS patching and migration to new Linux distributions, Cloud migrations, Certificate updates, Managing updates and patching for approximately 12,000 in-restaurant devices.
- Focus on cloud infrastructure management across AWS and GCP environments.
- Assist in testing, validating, and deploying payment system enhancements, updates, and new features to ensure accuracy, security, and high availability.
- Support ongoing maintenance of business-critical systems and resolve complex technical issues.
- Provide weekly project updates to the manager and participate in scheduled status and working meetings.
- Collaborate closely with managers, payments teams, and development teams to escalate and resolve critical engineering issues.
- Ensure adherence to Wendy’s policies, program standards, and technology methodologies.
- Maintain compliance with data privacy and security regulations, including PII, CCPA, GDPR, and other applicable laws.
- Contribute insights and recommendations to continuously improve payment system performance and reliability.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Linux system administration and large-scale Linux deployments.
- Hands-on expertise in Cloud platforms: AWS and GCP.
- Proven experience with DevOps, automation, and configuration management tools (Puppet preferred).
- Experience with cloud migration, patch management, and deployment architecture.
- Strong understanding of payment systems infrastructure, security, and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing and supporting large numbers of distributed devices.
- Solid troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve complex technical issues.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and business teams.
- High technical aptitude with a strong desire to continuously learn and deepen technical expertise.
