About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute a focused multi-year strategy that strengthens NEX Thailand's Theory of Change and leadership in clean energy innovation.
  • Identify emerging market opportunities, technologies, and ecosystem gaps where NEX can create meaningful impact.
  • Identify where NEX can create the distinctive value and the greatest impact, making deliberate choices about where the chapter should - and should not - focus.
  • Translate strategic objectives into clear annual priorities, workplans, organizational priorities, and program and partnership platforms.
  • Develop and maintain a diversified pipeline of government, corporate, foundation, multilateral, and philanthropic funding opportunities.
  • Identify and build strategic partnerships that support organizational growth and long-term impact.
  • Lead proposal development, funder engagement, and partnership negotiations and relationship-building.
  • Communicate NEX Thailand's results, insights, and learning credibly to funders, partners, the global NEX network, and the broader ecosystem.
  • P&L ownership: oversee annual budgeting, financial planning, and organizational performance.
  • Build a high-performing collaborative team and ensure NEX Thailand delivers impactful programs that accelerates entrepreneur success.
  • Assess existing capabilities and develop a clear plan for building the team needed to deliver the chapter's strategy.
  • Develop team members as credible external representatives and future leaders of the chapter.
  • Foster an inclusive culture rooted in learning, ambition, accountability, and care.
  • Oversee NEX Thailand's portfolio of startup acceleration, commercialization, workforce development, and ecosystem programs.
  • Ensure programs are informed by market needs, entrepreneur and partner feedback, and ecosystem priorities.
  • Build long-term program platforms and organizational capabilities that support sustainable growth and institutional readiness.
  • Establish appropriate impact measurement, learning, and reporting practices and use evidence to strengthen programs and resource allocation.
  • Support the development of new initiatives that strengthen entrepreneur success and ecosystem outcomes.
  • Establish clear roles, decision rights, management practices, and ways of working that enable accountability, collaboration, transparency and autonomy.
  • Provide overall leadership for NEX Thailand's legal entity setup, governance, and operational systems.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and NEX global policies.
  • Oversee financial management, legal compliance, and organizational risk management.
  • Strengthen operational systems that enable sustainable organizational growth.
  • Share knowledge and foster collaboration, methodologies, and best practices across the NEX network. Support cross-country initiatives and regional partnerships.
  • Represent NEX Thailand as a speaker, convener, mentor, thought partner, and ambassador of the NEX brand.
  • Develop NEX Thailand's reputation as a trusted and informed contributor to Thailand's clean energy transition.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Passionate about accelerating Thailand's clean energy transition.
  • An entrepreneurial leader that is comfortable with change and uncertainty and applies a growth mindset.
  • Comfortable working across government, industry, startups, investors, and international organizations.
  • Able to translate long-term strategy into organizational growth and measurable impact.
  • A systems thinker who connects entrepreneurs, markets, policy, and partnerships with a commercial and strategic lens.
  • Highly collaborative and relationship-oriented with strong cross-cultural leadership skills.
  • **Qualifications**
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Clean Energy, Entrepreneurship or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in the clean energy, innovation, entrepreneurship, or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated success building teams and growing organizations, business units, or innovation platforms.
  • Proven experience in fundraising, strategic partnerships, and business development.
  • Strong understanding of clean energy markets, technologies, and innovation ecosystems.
  • Experience engaging senior government officials, corporate executives, investors, and international partners in Thailand.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong financial, operational, and organizational management capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Thai and English.
  • Ability to think strategically while executing effectively in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Experience in one or more of the following:
  • Clean energy entrepreneurship or technology commercialization.
  • Startup acceleration and innovation ecosystem development.
  • Venture capital or investment.
  • Public-private partnerships.
  • International development or donor-funded programs.
  • Regional leadership across Southeast Asia.
  • Building organizations through periods of rapid growth and complexity.
