Key responsibilities & impact

Take field experience to the next level, conducting advanced inspections and preventative maintenance.
Operate safely in high-voltage environments without direct supervision.
Guide junior technicians on-site and follow a defined development pathway to advancement.
Conduct comprehensive electrical and mechanical inspections of solar energy systems.
Perform advanced preventative maintenance tasks like infrared thermography, insulation resistance testing, and I/V curve tracing.
Diagnose and troubleshoot system and operational issues independently.
Maintain accurate documentation of inspections and repairs with minimal oversight.
Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies while sharing knowledge with junior technicians.
Assist team members and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in the solar industry or a related electrical field.
Demonstrated understanding of electrical systems, solar energy principles, and grid-tied systems.
Familiar with using specialized diagnostic tools such as I/V Curve Tracers, Meggers, and Isolation testers.
Ability to read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
FAA Part 107 Certification (and familiarity operating drones for aerial thermographic purposes).
OSHA 30-hour and NFPA 70e certifications are preferred.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
