About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Responsible for the strategic leadership, governance, and performance of the company’s fleet and transportation operations across multiple Network Connex locations
Own fleet strategy, asset lifecycle management, regulatory compliance, and cost optimization
Partner closely with Operations, Safety (TSQ), Human Resources (HR), Finance, and Executive Leadership to ensure fleet decisions support business growth, safety, and financial objectives
Develop and manage fleet operating and capital budgets, ensuring cost discipline and transparency
Serve as the organization’s fleet compliance authority, ensuring adherence to DOT, FMCSA, CDL, and related regulatory requirements
Establish and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs to maximize uptime, safety, and asset longevity
Lead, mentor, and develop fleet personnel, setting expectations and performance standards

Requirements

What you’ll need

Extensive experience leading fleet and transportation operations across multiple locations
Advanced knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, CDL, and fleet compliance requirements
Proven experience managing fleet budgets, vendor contracts, and large asset portfolios
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into strategy
High level of proficiency with fleet management systems, telematics platforms, and Microsoft Office tools
Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and operate effectively at both operational and executive levels
Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience with telematics platforms such as GeoTab and Samsara
Prior use of enterprise fleet management systems including Element, Fleetio, Merchants, or Holman Insights
Background in fleet audits, regulatory inspections, safety programs, and emergency response management
Experience supporting growth, integration, or standardization across decentralized or multi-region fleets
