About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead editorial strategy and day-to-day execution across owned technology channels, including the Tech Blog
  • Drive editorial standards and cadence for the Tech Blog
  • Own the operational process for reviewing published papers and external speaking engagements
  • Partner with Social and Editorial Communications leads to amplify product and technology narratives beyond traditional press for launches

  • Own and maintain the editorial calendar and publishing and speaking review process from intake through publication
  • Identify and implement efficient editorial review and publishing workflows with legal, policy, and technical teams
  • Maintain consistent, repeatable processes for external publishing and speaking
  • Develop creative approaches with Social and Editorial Communications to extend storytelling through new formats and channels
  • Connect technical contributors with broader communications and marketing teams
  • Identify and pitch technically story-worthy work for elevation beyond the Tech Blog
  • Develop and execute a new destination for Netflix’s innovation narrative
  • Shape digital and physical formats that present technical work to broader audiences

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of relevant editorial, publishing, or communications operations experience across tech, innovation, entertainment, or related industries
  • Deep fluency in sub-cultures and emerging new media platforms
  • Well-read across analog to digitally-native media
  • SEO and/or GEO fluency
  • First principles and systems thinking
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Strong editorial judgment for tone, structure, and voice
  • Demonstrated operational excellence managing editorial calendars, review pipelines, and cross-functional coordination on tight timelines
  • High judgment and ability to make principled decisions amid ambiguity
  • Strong point of view and ability to influence across cross-functional teams and leaders
  • Collaborative, team-player mindset with comfort working independently and proactively
