About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the end-to-end integration architecture between Workday and the Talent ecosystem
- Define and enforce integration patterns and standards for tools, middleware, error handling, data contracts, security, and interface versioning
- Modernize the integration landscape by reducing point-to-point integrations, simplifying flows, and removing legacy components
- Lead integration design and implementation across requirements, design, build, test, deployment, and iteration
- Write and review transformation logic and supporting code
- Design observability using metrics, logs, traces, and alerts
- Define and monitor SLIs/SLOs for key integrations
- Lead incident response and postmortems, driving structural fixes
- Serve as technical lead with vendors and hold them accountable for quality, performance, and operability
- Translate HR, Finance, and partner business flows into integration designs
- Maintain documentation including data contracts, mappings, runbooks, and architecture overviews
- Coach engineers and partners on the integration ecosystem
Requirements
What you’ll need- Deep, hands-on experience building and running Workday integrations in production
- Experience with Workday Studio, EIB, and Web Services
- Ideally, experience with Workday Extend and Prism
- Strong experience with at least one middleware platform
- Solid understanding of REST/SOAP APIs, XML, XSLT, JSON, and authentication including OAuth and SAML
- Proficiency in at least one general-purpose language: Java, Python, or JavaScript
- Proven track record owning complex integrations or data flows end-to-end
- Strong grasp of HR/Talent business processes and HRIS data workflows, including recruiting, offers, onboarding, compensation, and performance
- Experience designing operability, observability, resilience, and scale into production systems
