About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, implement and operate high impact machine learning models
Partner with researchers, engineers, data scientists, and product managers to identify high-value machine-learning applications
Translate business intuition into data-driven solutions
Create scalable, production-ready ML solutions
Take algorithms from initial concept through deployment in Netflix’s large-scale, real-time systems
Contribute to better infrastructure for developing and deploying ML models
Advocate for and apply best practices for availability, scalability, operational excellence, and cost management
Operate and innovate on growth and commerce algorithms in production
Validate solutions through offline experiments
Build online A/B tests for production systems

Requirements

What you’ll need

A degree in Computer Science or a related field
4+ years of full-time engineering experience
Experience with large-scale applications involving machine learning
Strong software engineering principles and design skills
Excellent software design and development skills in Scala, Java, and Python
Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including version control, testing, and code review
Exceptional communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
Broad understanding of core machine-learning concepts and their application in large-scale, real-world systems
Familiarity with end-to-end machine-learning pipelines, including training or production deployment
Familiarity with challenges such as explainability
Ability to work effectively in large cross-functional teams
