About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, implement and operate high impact machine learning models
  • Partner with researchers, engineers, data scientists, and product managers to identify high-value machine-learning applications
  • Translate business intuition into data-driven solutions
  • Create scalable, production-ready ML solutions
  • Take algorithms from initial concept through deployment in Netflix’s large-scale, real-time systems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 4+ years of full-time engineering experience
  • Experience with large-scale applications involving machine learning
  • Strong software engineering principles and design skills
  • Excellent software design and development skills in Scala, Java, and Python
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including version control, testing, and code review
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
  • Broad understanding of core machine-learning concepts and their application in large-scale, real-world systems
  • Familiarity with end-to-end machine-learning pipelines, including training or production deployment
  • Familiarity with challenges such as explainability
  • Ability to work effectively in large cross-functional teams
