About the role

  • Lead an organization of engineers and engineering managers to experiment and innovate in the main Netflix App and Netflix Game Controller.
  • Drive the overall engineering strategy for Player Experiences.
  • Empower, challenge, and coach team members to grow their impact as individual technical leaders by providing them with context and continuous feedback.
  • Collaborate, build alignment, and develop strong relationships with cross-functional partners across business areas, leveraging exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Foster an inclusive team culture that enables team members of all backgrounds to succeed and thrive.
  • Exemplify the Netflix culture by understanding, advocating for, and demonstrating its values.

Requirements

  • A highly technical, hands-on engineering leader
  • Experienced across a variety of technologies with a focus on Javascript, React, and Swift or Kotlin
  • An opinionated product thinker with a deep understanding of the games industry, gaming controllers, and/or cloud gaming
  • Quick to adapt to new information and enjoy working in fast-paced and highly ambiguous environments
  • An experienced leader who prioritizes creating an inclusive and psychologically safe work environment
  • An engineering leader who can work with senior leadership to develop a long-term technical strategy and map business goals to appropriate design investments.
  • Familiar with working in game engines, such as Unreal Engine, Unity3D, and Defold.
  • Experience working with cloud gaming platforms and WebRTC technologies
  • Engage and contribute to open source communities
  • Comfortable working across multiple gaming platforms, including web, mobile, and console
  • Self-driven and highly motivated to deliver critical-tiered solutions
