About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain the Hawkins Core layer and integrate system context and components into prototyping tools
  • Activate eligibility and contribution criteria to manage how domain libraries extend and graduate patterns into Core
  • Partner with engineering to normalize taxonomy and capabilities between design and code
  • Codify visual and motion standards into scalable, reusable tokens and shared motion principles
  • Coordinate major releases across product domains with XD, PM, and Engineering stakeholders
  • Partner with domain system designers to centralize agentic context for Commerce, Games, and Member
  • Govern documentation, interaction patterns, accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA), and naming conventions
  • Collaborate with embedded system designers to streamline contribution workflows, audit adoption across Figma and codebases, and define centralization versus domain autonomy

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience as a System Designer, in addition to previously working as a product designer
  • Actively use AI for system research, audits, component generation, code contribution, and strategic communication
  • Understand agentic pipelines and judge when AI output meets the system bar
  • Expert in Figma
  • Experience creating, maintaining, and evolving design libraries
  • Expertise in design systems tools and workflows, such as Storybook and design tokens
  • Experience designing for game, social, or entertainment apps
  • Strong foundation in platform constraints and capabilities
  • Strong visual interaction and motion experience applied through a system’s lens
  • Track record of governing and contributing to design systems, defining standards, delivering scalable solutions, and driving adoption
  • Ability to solve complex problems with tactical execution and system-level thinking
  • Trusted partnership and mentoring capabilities
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity across design, technology, and business needs
  • Passion for accessibility and inclusive design, ensuring components meet industry standards
