About the role

  • The Ads Platform Engineering team builds advertising systems and integrations that power the delivery of ads using our world-class content delivery ecosystem.
  • We use a number of Netflix investments and innovations to power our ads - a unique mix of client and server-side ad insertions, state-of-the-art content delivery systems, ad encoding recipes, content understanding and metadata, etc.
  • We deliver ads in a manner that’s thoughtful of our member’s viewing experience and drive great outcomes for advertisers.
  • We also ensure that advertiser brand safety is ensured during serving, members only see the most appropriate ads for them.
  • The Delivery Management & Ad Platform Foundations team focuses on two key areas - first is enabling the set up, proactive monitoring, and troubleshooting of advertisers campaigns to ensure delivery and the second is our foundational work that crosses all of the Netflix Ad Suite to ensure developers and end-users alike are as efficient as possible in achieving their day to day tasks.

Requirements

  • Experience evaluating and architecting scalable graph solutions, including integration with existing enterprise data platforms and an understanding of tradeoffs in performance and reliability.
  • Familiarity with semantic data modeling and ontology design for complex entities, focusing on representing diverse relationships and enabling flexible data access and querying.
  • Proficiency with graph databases (e.g., Neo4j, Amazon Neptune) and knowledge graph data management best practices, including data governance, quality assurance (e.g., duplicate resolution), and entity lifecycle management (e.g., merging, automated enrichment) for large-scale datasets.
  • Broad knowledge of ad tech and advertising landscape, programmatic advertising, and digital marketing trends.
  • Worked closely with ad operations to enable campaign setup, targeting, reporting, and advertiser needs.
  • Developed many cloud-based applications and comfortable with modern programming languages (preferably object-oriented)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
