About the role
- Help shape and guide the vision for the JVM Ecosystem Team.
- Enable a simple, performant, and seamless development experience for JVM developers.
- Manage Application build process (Gradle & Nebula).
- Optimize for JVM performance and configuration needs.
- Manage Build artifact management, including Library SDLC JDK ownership.
- Make decisions around default JVM settings for Netflix applications & services.
- Provide insight and tooling for JVM applications.
- Coordinate outreach with the OpenJDK community.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience growing a strong and diverse technical team with a fun working culture.
- Able to comfortably navigate the ambiguity of a wide range of customer and partner needs.
- Coaching and development of senior engineers to enable continued growth.
- Picking up different hats as needed for the team, including project and product management.
- Deep JVM knowledge.
- Gradle/Nebula experience or other build tool management experience.
- Performance engineering experience.
- Participation in the Java Community Process (JCP).
