About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Prepare management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis
Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure compliance with accounting standards
Support quarterly and annual shareholder reporting
Assist the Finance Director with reporting and presentations to senior stakeholders
Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
Provide insight to support cost control and business performance
Partner with internal teams to improve financial understanding
Identify and deliver process improvements across finance

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong experience in month-end processes and financial reporting
Solid technical knowledge of P&L and balance sheet management
High attention to detail with strong analytical skills
Proactive, organised, and able to manage competing priorities
Comfortable working in a small, fast-paced team
Background in management accounting or financial controlling (desirable)
Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) (desirable)
SME or owner-managed business experience (desirable)
SAP or Microsoft Dynamics knowledge (desirable)
Exposure to shareholder or board-level reporting (desirable)
