About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and Lead People: Drive team growth through 1:1s, individual development plans (IDPs) and continuous feedback, ensuring a high-performance environment, autonomy and psychological safety.
Hands-on Technical Involvement & System Design: Actively participate in distributed architecture decisions, code quality and troubleshooting of complex incidents, also serving as technical support for the team.
Roadmap Execution & Delivery: Lead planning and alignment of deliveries in direct partnership with Product Managers and business stakeholders.
Governance & Resilience: Ensure engineering standards focused on high availability, ultra-low latency and security across the domains of different services.
Engineering Metrics Culture: Track and evolve team efficiency and maturity indicators using DORA metrics (Throughput, Lead Time, MTTR, Change Failure Rate).
Operational Health Management: Monitor and maintain system stability using availability metrics, SLAs, SLOs and observability practices.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Leadership Experience: Previous experience leading and developing software engineering teams in agile environments.
Strong Technical Background: Consistent hands-on experience in backend development (ecosystems such as .NET, Kotlin or Go, or equivalent high-performance languages).
Cloud & Infrastructure: Solid knowledge of AWS and cloud architecture concepts (managed services, messaging, microservices).
System Design & Scale: Expertise in distributed systems architecture, asynchronous processing, resilience and high availability.
Data-Driven Culture: Familiarity with product and engineering metrics and observability (Datadog, New Relic, etc.).
Hands-on Mindset: Willingness and ability to dive into technical details, ask hard questions about solution designs and help the team unblock bottlenecks.
