About the role
- Handle court publications/notifications, schedule deadlines in the system, analyze more complex cases, prepare reports and meet deadlines;
- Draft defenses, counterclaims, and appeals (Recurso Inominado, Appeal/Apelação, Motion for Clarification/Embargos de Declaração, Special Appeal/Recurso Especial - RESP, Extraordinary Appeal/Recurso Extraordinário - REXT, Internal Appeal/Agravo Interno, Interlocutory Appeals in RESP and REXT), simple and, primarily, more complex filings and submissions;
- Draft procedural pleadings, control deadlines, and experience handling the following types of actions:
- - Defendant Bank (or passive party): Economic Plans / Inflationary Adjustments (Expurgos Inflacionários) / IDEC / INCPP, Revision actions (Ações Revisionais), Indemnity claims (Ações Indenizatórias), Declaratory actions (Ações Declaratórias), Actions to Require Accounting (Ação de Exigir Contas), Precautionary/Interim measures (Cautelares), Tax Executions (Execuções Fiscais).
- Manage cases in the merits/trial phase and in the enforcement or liquidation of judgments;
- Respond to all questions submitted by the client via the internal system (DMIs);
- Handle client requests submitted via spreadsheet;
- Manage the most complex cases and take urgent actions requested by the client;
- Input case information into the firm's case management system as part of the SIGA project developed by the client;
- Analyze self-withdrawals and waivers of appeals;
- Draft all types of appeals;
- Prepare reports and respond to client inquiries arising from a request referred to as DMI;
- Handle client requests sent by spreadsheet (duplicate item retained from original);
- Comply with the requirements and determinations set out in Banco do Brasil’s Outsourced Legal Advocacy Manual, with the bank’s rules and guidelines, and with the workflows for client service.
Requirements
- Active OAB/SP registration;
- Minimum of 3 years practicing as an attorney;
- Experience in law firms, preferably handling mass litigation;
- Strong skill in drafting complex defenses and appeals;
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Office suite).
