Business Development Representative – Western/Midwestern United States
NelnetBusiness Development Representative handling customer relationships and sales in education services. Primarily focusing on consultative selling with minimal travel and remote communication.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Close deals in a highly competitive, consultative selling environment.
- Up-sell to existing customers through education and providing additional product knowledge of software and services or new products and services.
- Cold call and generate qualified sales leads.
- Create proposals for targeted prospects or existing customers.
- Provide expertise and advice to potential prospects and current customers regarding product and service offerings.
- Use Salesforce CRM to maintain records of contacts, accounts, leads, opportunities, updating, and report generation.
- Forecast and prepare sales plans to achieve sales goals.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in business, communications, marketing or a related field or a combination of education and related experience.
- 1-3 years of experience creating/maintaining business relationships via telephone phone.
- Customer service and call center experience a plus.
- Proven track record of high performance and achieving goals.
- Experience presenting via the web and in-person to both small and large groups.
- Experience in education or payment industry sales (particularly with technology and service sales) a plus.
