About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Take down proceedings using machine shorthand, voice, or digital capture
  • Capture verbatim proceedings of courts, meetings, depositions, and hearings
  • Administer oaths and participate in depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings
  • Transport, set up, and operate equipment to capture records accurately
  • Prepare for assignments by building job worksheets, reviewing case information, and ensuring hardware setup
  • Secure exhibits, perform file backups, and complete and upload required worksheets after proceedings
  • Maintain required reports and logs and respond promptly to communications
  • Represent Neal R. Gross and Co. professionally in proceedings and interactions
  • Interact with high-level federal government, state government, and private-industry clients

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Prior court reporting experience and equipment required; no training provided
  • At least 1 year working as a Court Reporter
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Reliable punctuality and deadline orientation
  • Can-do attitude and excellent work ethic
  • Ability to work independently
  • Organizational and time-management aptitude
  • Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills
  • Excellent English language skills
  • Proficiency with technology
  • Ability to pass security screening for access to client sites, including government buildings
  • NCRA, AAERT, or NVRA certification strongly preferred
