About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Take down proceedings using machine shorthand, voice, or digital capture
- Capture verbatim proceedings of courts, meetings, depositions, and hearings
- Administer oaths and participate in depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings
- Transport, set up, and operate equipment to capture records accurately
- Prepare for assignments by building job worksheets, reviewing case information, and ensuring hardware setup
- Secure exhibits, perform file backups, and complete and upload required worksheets after proceedings
- Maintain required reports and logs and respond promptly to communications
- Represent Neal R. Gross and Co. professionally in proceedings and interactions
- Interact with high-level federal government, state government, and private-industry clients
Requirements
What you’ll need- Prior court reporting experience and equipment required; no training provided
- At least 1 year working as a Court Reporter
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable punctuality and deadline orientation
- Can-do attitude and excellent work ethic
- Ability to work independently
- Organizational and time-management aptitude
- Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills
- Excellent English language skills
- Proficiency with technology
- Ability to pass security screening for access to client sites, including government buildings
- NCRA, AAERT, or NVRA certification strongly preferred
