About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Interface with Network Evolving Architecture teams to help lead technical direction for backbone and CRAN evolution, including development of scalable routing architectures (ISIS, BGP, LDP, RSVP TE/Segment Routing), optical transport integration (CDC ROADM, coherent optics, OTN), and the adoption of new IP, MPLS, and Ethernet standards across the Transport and IP layers.
Responsibilities include defining and validating architectural roadmaps, leading lab and field trials, and driving beta and launch cycles for integrated voice, video, and data platforms across the converged IP network.
Support Comcast’s global peering ecosystem and ensure seamless connectivity between Converged Regional Area Networks (CRANs) and the broader internet.
Help drive continuous network evolution through automation, reliability engineering, and high velocity innovation.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Senior-level expertise in core networking technologies, including: RIB/FIB architectures
ISIS, BGP, LDP
MPLS and Segment Routing
RSVP and QoS
Full-stack network knowledge spanning physical through application layers
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex networking environments
Strong programming and automation experience with Python, Go, and Shell scripting , including translating complex networking workflows into automated solutions using tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, and Zero-Touch Provisioning
Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, ArangoDB), and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Linux environments
Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives , interpret requirements, and drive operational integration while ensuring alignment with business and lifecycle standards
Experience engaging with vendors for platform evaluation, feature alignment, and roadmap planning; ability to collaborate effectively with SMEs and cross-functional teams
Strong organizational and project management skills , with the ability to operate effectively in matrixed environments
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, JNCIA, JNCIP, or JNCIE are a plus
Flexibility to support off-hours work , including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed
Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality delivery.
